Riga International Film Festival 2ANNAS opened its 20th anniversary edition with a pomp in the Cinema Splendid Palace. The visitors truly enjoyed Buster Keaton's silent film The General (1926) with the live music composed specifically for this occasion.

In honor of the celebration, 2ANNAS will look back at its' past and into the future. Competition programmes, focus screenings, special events, discussions and parties guaranteed!

Riga International Film Festival 2ANNAS takes part in the modern cultural forum White Night, kicking off September 5, with a Latvian short film programme and audiovisual performances.

Out of the 1300 submitted films, 61 have been selected for the competition. However, on the whole, 100 films will be presented as part of the focus programmes and festival showings.

2ANNAS Festival invities to a discussion about the representation of men in cinema and their social roles. The discussion will be held at Kaņepes Kultūras centrs (KKC) on 26 August at 19.00.

2ANNAS film festival is visiting WATERPIECES video art festival!

On 1 August short and medium-length films by Latvian directors from the 2ANNAS film festival programme will be shown at the international music festival LABA DABA.

On 30 July at 18:00 the entertainment and recreation place Klondaika offers an experimental short film programme for film enthusiasts.

After nearly two months on the road, 2ANNAS have finished the Latvian tour.
