Pure Queer | We’re in This Together | KKC
What is the queer community? It is a non-homogenous phenomenon – after all, queer people cannot be linked to each other in any direct way by some geographical or economical classification.
This film program shows that experience is the point of overlap. Most often, it survives in spite of something, instead of thanks to something. Works selected for We’re In This Together program highlight the community as something surviving from one generation to the next one, something that exists in shared fantasies and joy – and does so not in isolation but as a part of a wider public. Films from four continents uncover the magical power of this community: anger can turn into joy, shame – into acceptance. Making the first step is crucial here.
