In the cinema world, one can easily be seduced by egoistical ambitions to take-over the planet, by dreams of winning an Oscar, a Kristaps or an Anna. Afterwards, the filmmakers suffer from pain, ruined relationships and health issues – just to be able to sleep with all three of them. Or the opposite can happen – out of fear of seeming naïve, one can fall asleep deep in the writer’s block and achieve nothing.
In the world of monetized hobbies, it is difficult to make cinema that brings joy and joy only. However, people still do it. It happens closer that we might think. Perhaps your neighbor is, in fact, Latvian Rambo? Maybe your uncle is obsessed with “stop motion”? True cinema is made effortlessly.
