The House / EST / 15’
Urban human beings live under very similar physical conditions: inhabiting the same kind of structures, taking our kids to the same playgrounds and buying groceries at the same stores. But through identity, we can differentiate ourselves from our neighbours. In an increasing manner, it gives us a sense of meaning and importance as singular human beings. But does it also make us forget about the neighbour? The House is a reflection on identity inside a nine-storey residential building. We meet its inhabitants living in architecturally identical living rooms, all coloured by their own specific personalities. The film is an observation of the urban human being, exploring the contrast between us as part of a society, and as identity-seeking individuals.
