Aletsch Negative
The Aletsch Glacier is the longest and largest glacier of the Alps. According to glaciologists, by the end of this century most glaciers will have disappeared and only bits of Aletsch will remain. The film takes us on a captivating visual and sonic experience in which scale, temporality and our perception of the nature of the images we see, are questioned. From micro to macro, the succession of frozen instants creates the illusion of movement, while ice is being transformed into water streams. A sensory journey to the belly of the glacier.
